The Hunt

Aveyron

The Hunting domain of Laplanque is situated in the South of France at an
altitude of 600m.

The landscape is hilly and the large forests alternate with grass fields.

Big game is abundant and of very good quality.

Averyone is a department in the south of France in the Midi Pyrénées region.

Although it is situated close to the main cities of Toulouse and Montpellier,

this department has preserved its environment and traditions and is rich in

history and culture.

In the twelfth and thirteenth century, the Templar Knights built fortifications

in Averyone because it was a strategic spot near the Mediterranean Sea.

During the same period, the kings, lords and bishops had to organize the social

and economical life of the department because of the important increase in population. Therefore,

between 1229 and 1373, approximately 315 “bastides” (fortified towns)

with exceptional architecture were built.

Typical markets where local producers sell their products occur every week in

these bastides. France has a classification system for the most beautiful villages and

Everyone is the department which has the highest number (10) of villages classified

as “The Most Beautiful Village of France”.

Many of the stops in Saint James pilgrimage are in Averyone. This pilgrimage was

created around the seventh century to reach the shrine of Saint James the Great,

the apostle of Jesus Christ, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The Roquefort Cheese and the Laguiole knife are two world renowned

specialties from Aveyron. This department is also famous for the quality and the

richness of its gastronomy.

Aveyron is a famous place for tourism, and if you so wish, you will have the

pleasure of enjoying the various richness of this department.

The Pyrenees

The Pyrenean mountain rangeis the natural border between France and Spain.

It extends over 430km from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Pic of Aneto (3,404m above sea level) is the highest summit in the Pyrenees.

The Pyrenees are characterised by the presence of many rivers that have

created deep valleys. This pristine mountain range is the habitat of many

animal species. Some species, such as the Pyrenean chamois can only

be found in the Pyrenees. This is the only place in the world where they

can be hunted. Pyrenean chamois is hunted using stalking. At such high altitudes,

it requires quite a good physical condition. Roe Deer are very abundant in the

foothills of the Pyrenees where they can be hunted.

The Last Bears of France , live in the Pyrenees and wolves coming from

Spain are getting established. These species are protected..You Need To Be

In Great Physical Condition To Be Successful And Safe.
